CWI Welder

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for various types of aluminum weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture aluminum product to drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction while working at a consistent speed with a minimum of repairs and following specific instructions in the weld out of aluminum marine vessels following project schedules and meeting established budgets
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Various weld preparation, welding and weld finishing for the manufacturing of aluminum marine vessels.
- Working at a consistent speed with minimal repair to maintain production schedule.
- Work according to directives in written and drawn project specifications.
- FInspection of completed welds to ensure quality according to established standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- Interpreting blueprint drawings, including weld requirement symbols.
- Working knowledge of layout welding percentages and patterns using blueprint charts and zone prints.
- Finish grinding applications using manual and hand tools.
- Minimum of one year with various forms of aluminum welding
- Experience in boat building a plus
Certifications:
- MUST currently hold AWS certification as a CWI
Typical Physical Demands:
- Must be able to bend and maneuver in tight places, climb up and down ladders/ramps
Working Conditions:
- Highly industrial manufacturing environment
- Position requires employee to work and travel to several indoor, outdoor, and waterfront locations that may require overnight travel in various states.
