Administrative Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY
This is a full-time position that provides both administrative and clerical support to the COO, and also part-time administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Manager

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Handle confidential and non-routine information for both COO and Human Resources
  • Assist the COO in the management of his schedule
  • Schedule and organize complex activities such as meetings, travel, and department activities for all members of the Executive Management Team
  • Organize, sort, distribute and prioritize mail, information and phone calls determining levels of priority and importance. Answer all routine questions
  • Type and design general correspondences, memos, charts, tables, graphs, business plans
  • Ability to work independently
  • Draft meeting minutes & track action items. Work with others to collect information necessary for COO to make decisions
  • Act as a project manager for special projects, at the request of the COO, which may include: planning and coordinating multiple presentations, disseminating information, and organizing company wide events
  • Light bookkeeping duties including occasional check writing, deposits and balancing statements
For the Human Resources Manager, additional duties include:
Filing, records maintenance, scheduling interviews, benefits enrollment, assisting employees with forms and questions, data entry, running reports in Excel and Access, creating and distributing announcements to employees, and conducting employee orientations
    JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Two or more years of direct experience
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.

Administrative Clerk - Cutting Facility

    Essential Functions:
  • Answers, processes, assists and appropriately transfers all incoming telephone calls; greets and interacts with visitors and vendors
  • Performs clerical assignments as directed and to include; receiving materials, filing of material tracking receipts, material tracking of boat receipt reports, manages packing slips

Cleaner - Shop Floor

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the clean up of the property, shop and boats in a safe and effective manner as directed
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Sweep shop floor, help keep offices and parking lots clean
  • Empty shop garbage and scrap cans and place in appropriate receptacles
  • Maintain back pad and sea wall areas
  • Clean projects under construction, i.e. wipe weld smoke, clean ink marks and keep interior of hulls vacuumed, wipe down exterior of hull and house prior to launch
  • Assist with: Boat movement, rigging, tool repair, shop improvements and material handling

CNC Router Technician - Cutting Facility
Status: Currently Accepting resumes

Position Summary:
The CNC Router Technician is responsible for the safe / efficient operation, maintenance and programming of the multi-axis CNC router cutting table and integrated laser marking system. The CNC Router Technician also shares responsibility for preparation of machine code through the manipulation of part nests provided by KMI Engineering. This position requires a high energy, “A” player who is willing to develop aptitude to operate other complex CNC equipment. The position requires multi-tasking in a fast paced job-shop environment. The CNC Router Technician is expected to cross-train on the operation of our press brake(s) and extrusion bending machine to support the facility operation as needed during personnel off time. The CNC Router Technician is also required to assist with all facets of material handling in the KMI Cutting Facility.
    Essential Functions:
  • Operates, maintains and programs CNC router and laser marker.
  • Collaborates with Plant Manager to schedule aluminum plate processing runs on CNC router
  • Manipulates CAD nest files provided by Engineering for programming CNC router and laser marker
  • Responsible for optimizing aluminum plate scrap utilization
  • Responsible for scheduled preventative maintenance and calibration of CNC router, laser marker, and auxiliary equipment (chip collector, vacuum pumps, etc.)
  • Operates material handling equipment (overhead crane and forklift) in support of loading raw materials on router table and palletizing parts after they have been processed
  • Performs visual inspections as well as dimensional inspections of finished work-pieces to engineered specifications
  • Provides customer support as needed
  • Active participation in continuous improvement initiatives set forth by management to support increased efficiency, product quality, process improvement, working conditions, and work-place safety
  • Operates other shop equipment within KMI Metals Processing Center as trained and required (extrusion / pipe bender and press brake)
  • Assists with material handling / staging activities related to all shop equipment in support of kitting, palletizing, and shipment to customers.
    Job Requirements:
    Education and Qualifications
  • 2 year technical degree and/or equivalent experience (5+ years CNC router operation and programming)
  • Proficiency in the use of 2D design software, (as user of information only; use in a design capacity not required)
  • Proficiency in interpretation of engineered drawings, specifications, procedures, work instructions, and work orders.
  • Expertise in shop mathematics and the use of precision measuring devices
    Experience:
  • 5+ years of verifiable experience in the proficient operation, programming, and maintenance of multi-axis CNC router table
  • Proficiency in software packages typically used in support of CNC router table operation (AutoCAD, Solidworks, SigmaNEST, RouterCAD, others)
  • Use of typical shop tools to include; power tools, band saws, drill presses, jigs and fixtures, hand tools
  • Use of material handling equipment to include; forklift, cranes, pallet jacks
    Other desirable experience:
  • Exposure and/or participation in Lean Manufacturing is a plus
  • Familiarity with other CNC shop equipment is a plus
  • Ability to construct jigs and fixtures through fabrication and welding is a plus
    Typical Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to routinely lift and move objects up to 50 pounds independently, ability to lift 50 pounds and more with assistance

Data Control Clerk - Parts Master

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Arranges data in specified sequences, assigns new numbers using specially designed software to create new parts descriptions
  • Establish standardized procedures for transitioning information into the production data base.
  • Examines and audits data for discrepancies, corrects errors and reconciles data to ensure accuracy and integrity of information
  • Compile reports of parts inventory through database
  • Position will move to Production Control upon completion of parts master revisions.

Engineering CAD Administrator

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Responsible to Engineering Business & Projects Director to manage all of the engineering department software applications
  • Manages and maintains SolidWorks, SolidWorks Enterprise PDM (including Vault management, creating and managing document workflows), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project Server to include its SharePoint Project Workspace interface, Project schedules, and Timesheets functionality
  • Responsible for electronic document control and procedures
  • Manages staff training including the use of software

  • Responsible for managing engineering project teams in achieving a schedule, budget and quality expectations
  • Acts as head of Engineering Department, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, in the absence of the Chief Engineer

Provides project management oversight and leadership during the proposal, design, engineering, construction, delivery and warranty period of each assigned project.
